To whoever is reading this…
Don’t judge me, but I had my first sip of wine at a young age. I am the youngest of four siblings, so they were all drinking wine (with the supervision of my parents) when they were in their teens, which would mean I was around the age of 8-10 when they offered me sips here and there. Of course, when I was that age I thought it was the most disgusting thing ever created, but over the years my liking for wine has progressed.
Confession: I HATE LIQUOR WITH A PASSION. I don’t enjoy drinking it EVER. Now, I am not going to say that I don’t enjoy being a little (or a lot) tipsy from liquor, but I have never been the kind of person that just craves a cranberry vodka. Wine is a different story, though 🙂 I love wine. I love drinking wine, I love the way wine makes me feel, I love all of the different types of wine and looking at all of the different types of bottles…. bottom line is I really like wine. I used to be a white wine only kind of girl, but after I studied abroad in Italy during Summer 2017, I developed a new love for red wine.
After Italy, I couldn’t get myself to drink wine that had any sweetness in it at all. I only wanted flavors that were dry and red. Since time has passed between from my Italian adventures and now, my taste for white wine has come back. Now I feel like I like red and white wines pretty equally. I hate the super sweet wines, like Moscato and Riesling, and enjoy a Rose every now and then.
This semester, I hope to further my knowledge about wine, where it comes from, how it’s made and all of the other details there is to know about wine. I am really excited to take this course and have an awesome excuse to go drink wine and eat cheese in the middle of the week!
Talk to you next wine time,
Darcy
