“Flat out delicious, this brings compelling fruit flavors of melon, papaya and pineapple, coupled with juicy, mouth-cleansing acidity. The depth and complexity are phenomenal for an Oregon Pinot Gris produced in large quantities.”
I tried to ignore this description as I sniffed and sipped my first glass of wine- Pinot Gris.
A few friends from class and I decided to make a reservation at Blu for a wine tasting. None of us knew what to expect going into it…how many wines would we be tasting? Am I going to need to Uber home? WILL THERE BE FOOD?? These were some of the many questions going through my mind upon arriving. I reserved the lounge area of Blu instead of a regular table so that we could really sit back and relax. Amazingly, we were the only ones in there! That created a really comfortable vibe for us.
When I took my first sip, I knew I liked this wine immediately. It was my perfect middle between dry and sweet. I definitely noticed the fruity and floral flavors of this wine, which is why I think I liked it so much. This glass ended up being my favorite throughout the entire wine tasting. Don’t get me wrong, everything we tasted was really, really good, but this one was my favorite for sure! I feel as though this was a lighter bodied wine. Swishing it around in my mouth, I noticed a lot of acidity, but it was still very light and drinkable. Another amazing thing about this bottle is that it is only around $10, which is right in my budget for a bottle of wine 🙂
My friends and I were all really hungry, so we weren’t very good at spacing out the food they gave us so that we would have some to taste with each glass…LOL. We even asked if we could get some more snacks, but they told us no 😦 Overall, my experience at the Blu wine tasting was WONDERFUL!
First glass down! Next is the rosé!!

Until next wine time!
