Ah, Pinot Noir. One of my favorite red wines. This was the wine I got to taste directly after the Chardonnay–which I didn’t love–so let’s just say I was ready for it.
This glass of wine was SO. GOOD. I only had one piece of cheese left to eat with it which was incredible! The acidity of the wine paired with the cheese was such a delicious combination in my mouth. This pinot smelled rich and juicy, and it definitely tasted exactly how it smelled. The description for it is:
Aromatically complex with hints of dusty compost, peat moss and coffee grounds, this moves gracefully into a lively palate. Orange and lemon peel, black tea and juicy acids highlight a red berry core. This is a totally gulpable and thoroughly delicious young Pinot.
I tasted a lot more of the coffee hints and berry flavors after I re-read the description. I’m not quite sure what peat moss is, but I understand the nature-inspired flavors in the wine.

That last sentence…”a totally gulpable and thoroughly delicious”…is so accurate! That is the perfect word to describe it-gulpable. I felt really comfortable while I sipped on this glass because it was the perfect combination of flavors and the perfect amount of acid. This glass was definitely tied for favorite with the Pinot Gris from Oregon. I found myself wishing for more as I finished up my glass.
Until next wine time!
