The second to last wine I got to try at the Blu tasting was a Cabernet Sauvignon. A nice, deep red which made me very excited. At this point in the tasting I was definitely a little bit tipsy, so I was even more excited and ready to drink than before.
I swirled and sniffed before my first taste. I smelled the typical fruity flavors as well as some musky and oaky flavors. When it touched my tongue, it was tangy and tart, but really easily drinkable.
Besides the fact that it was easily drinkable, I wasn’t particularly in love with the taste. This glass might have been a little bit too tannin-y and musky for my liking. At this point in the tasting, I was getting sleepy, was out of food and was getting pretty ready to hurry this thing up. As much as I loved sitting and relaxing at Blu for two hours, I had stuff to do.

I wanted the tasting to be half as long as it was, but it was still super fun. I just wish we hadn’t eaten all of our snacks so quickly so I had something to eat with the wine. The wine was dark, strong and yummy, but again, not my absolute favorite like some of the others had been making me feel.
It was a 2015 bottle from the Columbian Valley in Washington. It only costs around $10 which is in my price range, so I like that a lot. I know that red wines pair nicely with meat, and I can imagine this would be delightful with a nice juicy steak! (Even though I am a vegetarian!)
Until next wine time!
