:Tenet 2015 The Pundit Syrah” sure is a mouthful! I have yet to try a wine with this fancy of a name, so I was looking forward to it. This was our 6th and final glass of wine of the tasting and honestly at this point, I was ready to go home. I had just the right amount of wine to make me tipsy, but then sleepy. I didn’t finish my previous glass of wine because I was ready to move onto the next one. I had high hopes for my last glass and this one left an awesome lasting impression on me.
The description for it is:
“The 2015 Syrah The Pundit continues to over-deliver in every vintage, showing loads of dark, earthy fruits, pepper and hints of olives in a medium to full-bodied, pure, layered style. It tastes like an Old World wine made in the New World, and that’s just what it is. Buy a case and drink it over the coming 4-5 years.”

This was different from the rest of the wine descriptions. It had less about the flavor and more about the body and the time period. I was really excited to try it, despite the fact that I was sleepy and ready to get home. It smelled strong and potent. A lot of smells came from the glass when I swirled it and when I tasted it……I was pleasantly surprised! It was tangy and tart and sort of sweet and had some oaky and woody flavors. I actually liked it quite a bit (even though I thought I wouldn’t!)
This 2015 The Pundit Syrah from Columbia Valley in Washington is around $20, which is more than I would like to spend on a bottle, so I probably won’t purchase this on my own time. Oh well!
Overall, this wine tasting at Blu was SO MUCH FUN! For only $15, that was a great deal. I will definitely be bringing more friends there for wine tastings and I am so glad I got to experience that for this class!

Until next wine time!
